Carrie Skinner AThR (ANZATA), MAAT (Clinical), BDesign (Visual Communications).

carrieCarrie has been facilitating art programmes and workshops for the past seven years in New Zealand. Her main focus is in working with children and young people. She has spent time at Child, Youth and Family Services, Korowai Manaaki (Youth Justice North) and Eating Disorders Unit at Greenlane Hospital. She has a private practice and runs groups for at-risk youth.

Her approach is based on a ‘framework for freedom’ and a sympathetic understanding of young children and their world. She strongly believes in the benefits of art for the family and the wider community. She practices her own art as a means of expressing her inner issues and experiences and is the founder of Arts Therapy (NZ) Trust.

Norman Skeen BSports (Coaching and Management).

Norman SkeenNorman has worked with young people through sports and music/dance for more than 10 years; as a break dancer, events producer, coach, DJ and Youth Transistions Broker. He volunteered for five years at Youthtown developing and implementing the Thursday evening programme Youth Unity.

He has produced numerous break dancing events both in New Zealand and Australia and has hosted the “Hip Hop Underground” radio show on George FM for the past 9 years.

He has a belief in the benefits of educating young people through cultures they have interest in, such as Hip Hop, and through outlets they have talent in; dancing, music and performance. He has worked for COMET, Youthtown, Auckland City Council and as a director of RawStylez Ltd.
