Chris Brain, Billy T Award nominee 2009, is in ‘A Better Place’ Chris has been a stand up comedian for 10 years, performing in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. This is his first solo comedy show in the International Comedy Festival for which he has been nominated for a Billy T Award. “A Better Place” is a comedy show written and performed by Chris Brain. Auto biographical in nature, “A Better Place” is a show about the darkly comic journey Chris has taken through gambling, drinking, religion, drugs and even going to the gym in order to be normal. As Chris himself explains “it’s hopefully a journey of self discovery with some laughs. For more information on Chris’s show go to, www.comedyfestival.co.nz/auckland/show/a-better-place
Toi Ora Live Arts Trust, a creative arts centre for people with experience of mental distress, are using a RETHiNK Grant to develop and design Ponderings 2, the second collection of poetry, prose, short stories and art work from Toi Ora’s writing and visual classes. This initiative follows the successful publication of Ponderings 1 in 2003, which has sold nearly 1000 copies to date. For more information about Toi Ora Live arts Trust, visit the website, www.toiora.org.nz
Te Ata, a ‘consumer’ support centre, has been given a RETHiNK Grant for the production, printing and launch of the Breaking Barriers calendar and greeting cards. This project will showcase Te Ata members’ art work, highlighting how people overcome the barriers that society creates, essentially living the lives that they want to live. The art work will reflect and be symbolic of the value of their experiences, the process of learning that mental distress can provide and how positive, inclusive and non-judgemental attitudes can make a significant difference in people’s lives.
ARTiculate is a studio arts therapy programme for young people. Each programme culminates in an exhibition for community, family and friends, it is this exhibition that a RETHiNK Grant is supporting. The exhibition not only provides confidence through appreciation from families and community but also advocates effectively for the young people, educating the general public by displaying the young people’s experiences in their own voices in a direct and powerful way. Promotional Opportunity
From time to time we feature local providers on our site. We have reserved a number of 125pixels x 125pixels “promotional spots” on the centre right sidebar of our website to recognise partnership opportunities as well as shorter term advertising promotions.
We are able to monitor click throughs as well as overall page impressions.
At present the “spots” are on random rotate so that the order in which each spot appears is random to each page. At present we don’t anticipate any more than a maximum of 6 spots for each page. Note: Each of these these promotional spaces will appear on every page of the site.
Each ad block can be setup for a number of days or to expire on a set date. This will benefit campaign planning. Typical bookings are for 60 or 90 days and can be longer.
You will need to get your designer to make a 125 pixel x 125 pixel ad spot in .gif or.jpg format.
Pricing is negotiable and we will be experimenting to identify the best cycle scenarios.we may alos be able to provide placement on other somplementary sites as well.
